About RE-BD AR2024: This assessment report, resulting from the project "Towards new renewable energy developments in Switzerland that preserve biodiversity", examines the essential balance between expanding renewable energy and preserving biodiversity in the Swiss Alps. Conducted from June 2023 to September 2024 and supported by CLIMACT, this project brought together experts in renewable energy, climate, and biodiversity from various scientific institutions and universities across Switzerland. The authors reviewed scientific literature to define the conditions necessary to achieve three key goals: climate action, energy security, and ecological integrity.
